Billy Watman Biography

Billy is an award-winning Anglo-Brazilian classical & fingerstyle guitarist.

From 2019-2022 he studied classical guitar at the prestigious Royal College of Music in London. Playing since the age of 6, and inspired by the likes of Rodrigo y Gabriela, Tommy Emmanuel, and Mike Oldfield, he first started to perform live at the Edinburgh Fringe as a busker at the age of 9.

In 2016 he reached the grand final of the Sky Arts TV show “Guitar Star” during which time he worked with Tony Iommi, George Benson, Milos Karadaglic and Tony Visconti.

Well known for his viral video performances of Bohemian Rhapsody, Billy has gone on to perform all over Europe, sharing stages and festival bills with artists including Adam Wakeman (Black Sabbath / Ozzy Osbourne), Midge Ure, Chaka Khan & The Pet Shop Boys.

Refusing to be ‘pigeon-holed’ into a specific style, Billy’s live shows offer a mesmerizing, genre-defying journey through music, with repertoire spanning Classical, Flamenco, and Pop, through to Disco and Classic Rock – all on 1 guitar.
